The Western Currency Facility at Fort Worth, TX began printing currency in early 1991, starting with $1 bills for Federal Reserve Districts closest to the facility itself.

Microscopic printing was added around Franklin's portrait on the $100 bill this year for Series 1990.

The only $50 bills printed in 1991 were Star Notes for the New York district, but they weren't released until early 1992.
