A complete list of all Generation 4 My Little Pony content that has ever existed since 2010.

Season 1[]

It all started on September 28, 2010, when the official My Little Pony website had completely changed. The first videos seen on the new generation of My Little Pony comprised of the Season 1 theme song and seven "Meet the Ponies" videos, one for each member of the Mane Six, and one for Princess Celestia. On September 22, 2011, an eighth video titled "Meet Spike" was uploaded.

The first episode premiered on the Hub Network on October 10, 2010, the same date when the channel itself also launched on cable television. New episodes aired every Friday, starting on October 22 with "Friendship is Magic Part 2". No new episodes aired on December 31, 2010, January 14, January 21, or April 1, 2011.

The first official commercial made its debut in late 2010, when the Hub Network shifted the show's broadcast time to 1:30 p.m. (Eastern Time). A 20-second version of this commercial was uploaded to YouTube on December 22, 2010.

On February 15, 2011, the first 15 episodes were released on iTunes, at a price of $2.99 per episode, or $69.99 for the whole season. All further episodes were released about 1-2 days after their first broadcast date on the Hub Network.

Equestria Girls (California Girls) Parody Music Video

A commercial featuring a parody of the Katy Perry song "California Gurls", under the title "Equestria Girls", premiered on May 24, 2011. An extended version was released three days later, on May 27.

My Little Pony Friendship is Magic - Behind the Scenes

An official, behind-the-scenes look at the making of the show was uploaded on June 21, 2011. It was also the first YouTube video upload from My Little Pony Official. A higher quality version was released on November 15, 2013.

The Ticket Master and Suited for Success became the first two episodes to appear on DVD with "Celebration in Canterlot", followed by Swarm of the Century, Sonic Rainboom and The Cutie Mark Chronicles with "Adventures in Ponyville", both in the second half of 2011.

Another three episodes of this season -- Friendship is Magic Part 1, Friendship is Magic Part 2, and Over a Barrel -- were released on DVD with "The Friendship Express" on February 28, 2012, followed by The Best Night Ever on the "Royal Pony Wedding" DVD on August 7.

My Little Pony - Friendship is Magic Theme Song!

An extended version of the theme song was also included as a bonus feature to "The Friendship Express" DVD, along with six of the seven "Meet the Ponies" videos. A "sizzle reel" of the extended theme song was uploaded to YouTube on July 19, 2012.

All 26 episodes were released on Netflix on April 1, 2012, and in a complete season DVD boxset on December 4.

Season 2[]

On September 12, 2011, sneak peeks at the second season's first episode were released on YouTube from the Hub Network. The episodes themselves were released on the channel and on iTunes starting on September 17, 2011.

No new episodes were released on October 1, October 8, October 29, December 24, December 31, 2011, February 25, or April 14, 2012.

Bronies: The Extremely Unexpected Adult Fans of My Little Pony[]

This documentary centering on adult fans of the show premiered at the Anaheim Convention Center on November 4, 2012. The film was directed by Laurent Malaquais, while John de Lancie, voice of Discord, served as executive producer. Unlike the show itself, the animation sequences in this documentary film, which still use the same Flash animation, are considered "adult animation".

A digital release occurred on January 19, 2013 (the same day when Keep Calm and Flutter On premiered on the Hub Network), followed by a DVD and Blu-ray on February 17, one day after the Season 3 finale.

Season 3[]

My Little Pony - Crystal Fair Song

On July 13–14, 2012, the first My Little Pony panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2012 took place. Unveiled there were the two songs from the first Season 3 episode, The Crystal Empire Part 1. The song titles are The Failure Song and The Ballad of the Crystal Empire.

The first two episodes finished production by September 2012, and the season itself premiered on November 10. No new episodes aired on January 5, January 12, or February 2, 2013.

On May 9, 2013, the official website for a spin-off film titled "Equestria Girls" launched online. This was followed by two trailers on May 12 and June 7, 2013, a limited theatrical release on June 16, and two clips of the film on YouTube on June 27. The film grossed over $480,000 internationally.

Shout! Factory announced an August 6 DVD and Blu-ray Disc release for the film on July 8, 2013. This in turn marked the first time any My Little Pony characters officially appeared on Blu-ray Disc. The movie was also released on iTunes, Amazon Video, and other digital media stores.

My Little Pony Equestria Girls - Rainbow Rocks Official Movie Trailer

An official trailer was released on September 18, 2014.

The film received a limited theatrical release on September 27, grossing more than $360,000 worldwide. The TV version premiered on Discovery Family on October 17, and the full uncut version was released on DVD, Blu-ray Disc, iTunes, Amazon Video and other digital media stores on October 28, followed by a Netflix release on December 17. Bonus features not only include the animated shorts, but also an audio commentary and the usual sing-along feature.

In March 2015, ten "Who is" videos were uploaded to YouTube.

The first soundtrack album, Songs of Friendship and Magic, was released on December 2, 2013, and contained songs from the first two seasons. The second one, Songs of Ponyville, was released on April 21, 2014, and has songs from Seasons 3 and 4, including new extended versions of "Find a Way" and "Make a Wish". Music videos of most of the songs from the first soundtrack were released from November 15, 2013 through October 29, 2014, and the second album's songs from November 25, 2014 through July 27, 2015.

The first two Equestria Girls films got their soundtrack albums in September 2014, in which one of the songs is the full version of "Awesome as I Wanna Be" that didn't appear in the second film. Another is "Shine Like Rainbows", which is also absent in the TV version of Rainbow Rocks. 13 of all songs from both films combined also got music videos from July 2014 to March 2015, one of which was completely unused -- "My Little Pony Friends", the original end credits song for the first film.

Pre-Season 5[]

Season 5 was first unveiled at SDCC 2014, containing one clip from the first episode of that season in animatic form.

On October 13, 2014, the first four seasons of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic moved to Discovery Family, which replaced the Hub Network that same day.

A soundtrack album for the songs from the film was released on September 18, containing the three post-Rainbow Rocks songs, a new song titled "Dance Magic", and all six songs used in the film. Only five of the songs got music videos from December 2015 to January 2016, while one didn't, due to copyright issues with Sony Music Entertainment.

The TV version of film itself premiered on September 26, 2015, in which the end credits song "Right There in Front of Me" is replaced by background music, and does not include photos of the camaraderies from during the event.

Three YouTube-exclusive bonus features were uploaded in October 2015.

The full uncut version of the film was released on DVD, Blu-ray Disc, iTunes, Amazon Video and other digital media stores on October 13. Bonus features include an audio commentary for this film, the five animated shorts, the sing-along feature, and four deleted scenes from an early version of the film, dating back to when Rainbow Rocks was just released in 2014.

The film was released on Netflix on December 1, 2015, and was available for five years, like the first two films. The last bonus feature was a blooper reel, released on May 4, 2016.

Summertime Shorts[]

After the three specials was a series of "Summertime Shorts" for Equestria Girls, four of which take place during the events of the first film, and the rest after Mirror Magic. These shorts made their debut on Discovery Family during the summer break of 2017, then on YouTube every week starting on August 11. After "The Road Less Scheduled" was the next special, "Sunset's Backstage Pass". It premiered on Discovery Family on July 27, 2019, and on YouTube from September 17 through October 13.

The last three "You Choose the Endings" and the music video "Let it Rain" were never released on YouTube, although rumored to once be planned a release in late October and early November 2019, after Sunset's Backstage Pass. Cheer You On was uploaded in March 2020.

Rainbow Roadtrip[]

My Little Pony Rainbow Roadtrip

A commercial for the Rainbow Roadtrip special aired on June 22, 2019, one week before the special itself premiered on Discovery Family, on June 29. This special uses the same Toon Boom Harmony animation from My Little Pony: The Movie.

There are three songs in the film: "Rainbow Roadtrip", "The End of the Rainbow", and "Living in Color".

Although it wasn't released on Netflix as originally planned on July 29[1], Rainbow Roadtrip can still be seen on several kids' streaming channels, and was also released on DVD in the UK in 2020.

My Little Pony Friendship is Forever

The second branch of Generation 4.5 is a miniseries titled "My Little Pony: Friendship is Forever". There were six episodes, each one revolving around a different member of the Mane Six:

The first 26 episodes were released on Hulu on April 2, 2021, while the remaining 14 were never released there.
