GSN, or the Game Show Network, was launched on December 1, 1994. Owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment, GSN's programs mainly consisted of game shows, such as Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!.

Originally a basic cable television network, GSN transitioned to a digital cable network in the 2000s, most likely when the network changed its logo on March 15, 2004.

Buzzr, a much more affordable digital broadcast network much similar to the early years of GSN, launched on June 1, 2015. Unlike GSN, however, Buzzr is owned by FremantleMedia. Of course, not all states currently carry Buzzr.
