Production timeline[]
- March 13, 2006: This film was once titled "Rapunzel Unbraided", and was set to premiere in theaters in 2009.[1]
- February 17, 2007: The title was shortened to just "Rapunzel".
- April 8, 2008: The release date was pushed back to Christmas 2010. Glen Keane and Dean Wellins were hired as directors and Roy Conli as producer.
- October 9, 2008: Glen Keane and Dean Wellins stepped down as directors and were replaced by Byron Howard and Nathan Greno.
- September 10, 2009: Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi were cast as Rapunzel and Flynn Rider.
