Before 1983, Walt Disney Productions distributed television programs as well as feature-length movies, including those that broadcast on NBC, CBS and ABC. The name "Walt Disney Television" was adopted at the same time with Buena Vista Television.
During the early '80s, aired on CBS every Satuday evening at 7:00 p.m. was the Walt Disney anthology series. Each broadcast comprised of a Disney original film, often split into two parts.
After the Walt Disney anthology series was discontinued in late 1983 on CBS, it was succeeded by Walt Disney Pictures Television.
In 1985, Walt Disney Television Animation, the animated counterpart of Walt Disney Television, began using in-credit text logos at the end of the credits of their programs, such as The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and Timon & Pumbaa.
2003-2015After the first Walt Disney Television logo stopped airing on new programs, in its place within animated series was this logo. It was seen on programs that originally aired on ABC Kids, Disney Channel, Toon Disney, and Disney XD, and can still be seen on those programs on DVD and on iTunes.
